Problems are blessings in disguise. They direct you to the wounds you need to heal, and the skills to learn, to best deal with the stress and distress in your life.
An important part of my work is known as embodied processing because we focus on the body- mind connection, and how enhancing your feeling sense and moment-by- moment perceptions can guide you to break old patterns and make wise choices.
You can try some of the embodiment exercises yourself and see how they can help you to reduce stress and to be more in touch with your body.
Individual Therapy:
These sessions are an opportunity for you to talk about any issue of concern to you. I help you to examine the larger picture, to see how past experiences and old habits may be limiting your ability to be fully present. We work together to heal old wounds and to explore your strengths and important areas of focus for personal growth and happiness. You learn how to use some simple breathing methods to de-stress, to tune into the wisdom of the body and of your feelings, tensions and spontaneous imagery, and to more effectively and confidently access your inner resources.
Couple’s Therapy:
I work with all couples: whether you are married, living together or dating; straight, gay or lesbian; together for decades or newly connecting. We look at the challenges and strengths of your relationship, how your old baggage can become an asset and not a hindrance, and how to use breath and body awareness to support each other’s growth and keep the relationship interesting and loving.
Sex Therapy:
I can help you explore all sexual concerns. A particular area of specialty and one of the most common issues for many couples and individuals is the loss of sexual desire in a marriage or committed relationship. Whether you come for therapy individually or as a couple, you will have an opportunity to talk with me about your sexual concerns in a relaxed and open atmosphere. I can help you to explore your feelings about sex, provide you with accurate, up-to-date information, and suggest exercises that you can do at home to relax your body, quiet your mind, and enhance your sexual experience.
